A new survey from financial education industry association FLEX shows that tech companies want to be more involved in education, not less.
In its latest survey, FLEx asked companies how they see education going forward.
The top three priorities for tech companies are increased access to education and improving student outcomes.
The FLE and Education Leadership Coalition, an industry group, said it was the first time the survey asked about the issue of student outcomes and that it would be “incredibly helpful” for the tech sector.
The top five priorities of tech companies, according to the FLE:More than a quarter of tech workers, including nearly two-thirds of companies in the top 10, want to see more students in the workforce.
Only about a third of those companies want fewer students in tech.
In addition, nearly one-third of companies said they are more concerned about the economic costs of student debt than the value of a degree.FLEX also asked how the tech economy is changing.
Nearly a quarter (23%) of tech jobs are being automated, and only about one-quarter (24%) said they were growing in terms of new hires.
